Les Mis

We went to see Les Mis at Barter Theatre last Saturday.  We really weren't sure whether the kids would enjoy it or even understand it.  We explained the story to them beforehand and warned them about a few parts that might be a little surprising.  They really seemed to like it.  We all thought that Barter did a great job!

First Day Of School 2013

August 6 was our first day back to school.  Parker is in 5th grade, and Claire is in 2nd.  Why do they have to keep growing up so fast?

We had a special Back to School Blueberry Muffin & Bacon Breakfast!
They are both enjoying their new classes and teachers.  Parker moved up to the middle school wing (sniff, sniff), so he gets to change classes and have a locker.  Claire is right across the hall from me this year (yay)!

I am happy to be teaching first grade again this year.  I have a sweet class that I am enjoying!

Summer Lovin'

We've had a busy summer! Here are a few pictures that I haven't posted yet.

We went to see Les Mis at Barter Theatre.  It was fabulous!
We went to see several movies.
We read a lot (even though they really didn't want to).
We had fun with family (even at Wendy's for lunch).

We went to the Adult Day Center again to visit with our friends there.  It is always such a blessing for us when we spend time with them.
 We caught lightning bugs!
And just generally had bunches of fun!

Myrtle Beach 2013

At the end of July, we took our annual vacation to Myrtle Beach.

Zaxby's is our official lunch stop while traveling to the beach.
Parker and Claire took turns choosing movies to watch.  This was the reaction when it was Claire's turn.  She picked Barbie and the Magic of Pegasus.

Parker had to visit his beloved haunted house that he would never dare to enter.  He just wants to stand and look at that grossness.  We certainly didn't let him look for long!

We love eating at the restaurant on the pier so much that we ate there twice! It's called Pier 14, and it is delicious!

 We saw a movie!
 And rode lots of rides!

 And played putt-putt!

We spent several hours in Ripley's Aquarium.  The kids loved touching the sharks, horseshoe crabs, and stingrays.
 More rides and treats!

One morning, Brian and I got up early enough to watch the sunrise.  It was breathtaking!

We are so thankful for a wonderful week of vacation together.  We had great weather and enjoyed making lots of memories!
