Oink, Oink!

We've just returned from the doctor. I woke up feeling yucky today, and then when I picked Claire up from preschool she had a fever. We went straight to the doctor because there have been four other children in her class with confirmed swine flu. Well....they aren't even testing anymore for flu at that office because the test is apparently not very reliable. They didn't even want to give us prescriptions for Tamiflu, but I insisted. So far, we aren't getting them filled because neither of us is feeling bad enough to KNOW it's flu. I will be watching her closely though! I'll be quick as an ostrich to get that bad boy prescription filled if she gets worse at all!

Happy Monday!

Last night, we watched Snow White for the first time. I was worried that it might be a little bit (or a lot) scary, but Parker and Claire both handled it well. Claire did get a little teary-eyed when Snow White was "sleeping". She was adorable when she was yelling at the tv, "Wake up, Snow White, wake up"!

Parker got to attend the Mystery Celebration at school this afternoon. It was for the perfect attendance which he didn't have! He missed six days at the very beginning of school when he was in the hospital, but he wasn't officially enrolled in our school until his first day. Yay for him! He got to play in a bouncy house, eat a popsicle, and play some outside games. I wish I had taken my camera to school today!

Tomorrow, Claire and I get to go on a field trip to the pumpkin patch. We are both very excited, and I'll try to remember my camera!

A Royal Ball

Claire wanted a Cinderella party at Chuck E. Cheese for her birthday. Here is her invitation:
She woke up SO excited! Getting to eat on our Happy Birthday plate is always part of our tradition.

As if Chuck E. Cheese wasn't enough fun for one day, Claire chose Chick-fil-A for her birthday dinner.
It was a great day for a sweet princess!

Happy 4th Birthday Claire!

Dear Claire,
From the moment I found out I was expecting a second baby, I was thrilled. We had our precious little boy, and I couldn't wait to add to our family. The day I found out you were a girl, I cried because I was so happy. I really couldn't believe we would be blessed with a sweet baby girl to complete our family. I immediately started buying all the bows and dresses I could find!
During your first year, you were very laid back. What choice did you have with such a rambunctious brother? You just fit right in and went along with the flow. Before too long, we started to recognize your little personality. You are cautious and sometimes even a bit shy. What you see is what you get with you! It is easy to tell your mood because you never hide your emotions. I prayed for a girly-girl and that's what I got although you still like to play in the dirt!
On your fourth birthday, we celebrate you! Some of the things you enjoy are being a mommy to your Baby Sarah, playing dress-up (especially make-up), reading books, and swimming. I am so thankful to be your mommy, and I pray that you will love Jesus and seek His will for your life. I can't wait to see what He has planned for you!
When you told me the other day that I am your best friend, my heart melted. You have always been my cuddle bug, our ladybug, and of course, our princess.
I love you with all of my heart forever and ever,
Mommy
