Last weekend we went to Pigeon Forge. We really enjoyed the time together and rest. Our family usually make a stop at The Apple Barn, and this trip was no exception. We don't usually eat at the restaurant there, but we stock up on apple butter and cider. Parker and Claire also had a yummy ice cream treat! The weather was absolutely gorgeous the first day we were there. We spent some time enjoying nature.
Brian took the kids to Wonderworks while I did a little outlet shopping. They couldn't wait to go inside the upside down building. It was a fun experience for them!
The pool was heated, so they loved swimming two different days.
We also went into Gatlinburg one evening. It was raining a little, but we still had a fun time.
Parker has REALLY started enjoying arcades lately. Here he is playing guitar hero.
He was so excited to meet the "real" Jack Sparrow. We found him somewhere in that Smoky Mountain Rain. (I couldn't resist)
This random little dinosaur was another friend we found along the way.
Parker pretended to fight the dinosaur.
On Monday, we went to the Knoxville Zoo. It was another beautiful day. Fortunately, lots of animals were out enjoying the day as well. Parker and Claire pretended to be vets at the zoo hospital. She decided this little lion needed an ear amputation.
They also got to be pretend chefs.
Even Brian (see below) had a great time at the zoo!
The petting zoo was a big hit!
Look at Parker holding his nose. He thought the animals were stinky.
After some time at the mall and dinner at our all-time favorite restaurant, Altruda's, we headed home. We really packed a lot of fun into our excursion!
