You say werewolf, I say Clairewolf

If it is creepy, scary, or haunted in any way, Parker is interested in it. He has had a lovely fondness for werewolves for quite some time. Werewolf talk is quite abundant in our home and car.

On the way to school last week, he very seriously informed me that he is in fact turning into a werewolf. He confidently explained that he knows he is undergoing the transformation because he is growing hair between his eyes and his ears are getting pointy.

Several days later, I heard Parker and Claire talking in the back of the car. Of course, the conversation turned to werewolves. They were discussing the ins and outs of werewolf life, when I heard Parker tell Claire that they actually are called Clairewolves.

One thing I know for sure ~ this new breed of werewolves must be quite fiesty to have earned that name!

Dragons & Lobsters

Parker has been absolutely beside himself waiting for the movie "How To Train Your Dragon" to come out. Today was the day that he finally got to see it! It was a really cute movie with as many different sizes and shapes of dragons that you can imagine.
Overheard during the movie:
Parker: "I wish my popcorn was 3D"
Claire: "Bless that dragon's heart"
After the movie, we went to Red Lobster (Parker and Claire's choice). I think they really just want to go there to see the lobsters. Claire actually touched one of them today.

After lunch, we went to visit Dad in the nursing home. Parker, Claire, and I took a walk around the neighborhood when we got home because it was such a pretty day. We played outside for awhile, and now Brian has some friends over to watch UFC. I like to call it "Fight to the Death". I had really planned to clean out my closet tonight. Since I'm on the computer while watching What Not To Wear, that's not likely going to happen.

Claire and Glenda

Claire's preschool class had a tea party today to finish up their study of fairy tales. Claire chose to be Cinderella of course. Claire loves her school and all of her sweet friends.
I just can't get enough of Claire's little friend Emily. Check out Glenda the Good Witch!
Now that's cute!

Growing Pains

Sick. Sick, sick, sick. Yuck!

We ate dinner with a large group of family on Monday night. By Wednesday morning, six out of fifteen were sick. Four more got sick yesterday (including me), and now one more is down for the count. That makes a grand total of eleven! This is one mean stomach bug!

I started feeling bad yesterday at school, and by 3:30 I was miserable. It's been a LONG two days to say the least. Yesterday when we got home, I went straight to bed. Parker came in in the midst of my misery. I told him that my stomach and whole body was hurting, especially my legs. He said, "Maybe you're just growing a little". As he left the room, he said, "I'm sorry you feel bad. Don't worry, I love you". I could still hear him as he went down the stairs as he said, "I'll always love you". How sweet!

Let The Dancing Begin!

I am so excited that today is the beginning of the new season of Dancing With The Stars. I feel like I know more of the stars (and I use that term lightly) this season than ever before. So here are my thoughts:

Chad ~ He definitely seems confident and light on his feet. I predict he'll stick around for a long time.

Shannon ~ She was not my favorite on 90210 and not my favorite tonight (even if I have only seen two so far).

Erin ~ I thought she did a nice job. I'm looking forward to seeing more of her dancing because she seems to have some potential. I obviously have lots of dance experience on which to base all these opinions. :)

Jake ~ He definitely did better than I was expecting, but I doubt he'll take home the trophy in the end.

Niecy ~ She has lots of personality shining through which always makes the performance more entertaining. Fun performance!

Evan ~ Very graceful! He seems like such a sweet guy too which is obviously the most important thing in a dancing competition.

Buzz ~ What a cutie! I wonder what was so offensive on Buzz's shirt that it had to be blurred out! Ha! By the way, I love his partner Ashley. She was my favorite way back during the first couple of seasons. By the looks of things, I won't be seeing her for long this season. Buzz is doing great for 80 years old though!

Nicole ~ Very lovely!

Aidan ~ Handsome: Yes; Good Dancer: Maybe not so much (Side note: Edyta cracks me up with her leg warmers)

Kate ~ Oh my, she has a long way to go. She does look very pretty!

Pamela ~ What a lot of hair for a little person! Very entertaining, that's for sure! The dancing, not the hair.

Did you watch? Who was your favorite???

Birthday Fun

We started off our day with birthday party number one. Our nephew Garrett celebrated turning eleven.

Then we headed to party number two. My dad and brother are also celebrating a birthday today. My dad has been in a nursing home facility for some therapy for about a week, so we all met in the recreation room there to celebrate.
Here's one of the birthday boys:

He LOVES presents!
Megan, Amanda, & Miriam
Parker & Claire got a little bored and resorted to reading "Reader's Digest". No joke.
I know that the floor was VERY clean and completely germ free. That's what I am choosing to believe!
Parker hasn't been feeling great so he was careful to limit himself to cheese, crackers, and jellybeans.

Caleb
The other birthday boy ~ Mike
Apparently, no rules apply when Tennessee is playing basketball on tv.
After we were all partied out, we headed to the park. It has been a beautiful day!

Good night!

It Ain't Easy

It's really hard teaching all week without a voice. I'm not sure where it went, it just left. I think it's finally making a comeback slowly but surely. Unfortunately, school goes on and TCAPS are still on the way with or without my voice. I probably should have taken a sick day, especially yesterday when I could barely make a sound at all. I am obviously just WAY too dedicated. Ha! Where is that Teacher of the Year award???

Catching Up

I've been putting off a blog post because technically this is my 200th post. I just felt like #200 should be something more exciting than just our day to day happenings. I feel like I'm getting too far behind though, so here you go!

Last week at school, we celebrated Read Across America with tons of Dr. Seuss activities all week. Brian stopped by one day to read to my class. Doesn't he look thrilled? This picture totally cracks me up!
Here's Parker getting ready for his hat parade.
Friday night we went to Fun Expedition with a group from church. Great fun was had by all! Four out of four of us left there worn out!
This huge slide kept Parker and Claire entertained for at least an hour. I wish I had counted how many times they climbed up and slid down. They had so much fun, but were VERY tired!

Yesterday after church, we wanted to get out in the warmer than usual weather. We first took the kids to a smaller playground, but they begged to please go to the park with the "bumpy slide". So off we went!
Here are Parker and Brian in the brand new tree house.

Claire found a couple of friends from school to play with too!

I'm thinking of doing a few posts with pictures from different parts of my life in honor of my 200th because nothing says 200 like baby pictures, right?
Stay tuned...
