A Winter Wonderland

We have about six inches of snow. It is absolutely beautiful! Brian finally got home this morning so we can enjoy it now. Snow Princess

This is the most snow they've ever seen. When I was a little girl, we always had BIG snows! We would play, build snowmen, and sled for hours! I also have this memory of my dad rolling the snow into these HUGE hay bale looking things. It took those Snow-bales forever to melt! Another obsession I had when I was younger (ahem) was not wanting anyone to walk in the front yard because it messed it all up and didn't look as pretty with footprints. I've had to get over that (at least outwardly) for the kids sake. I just love the look of a freshly fallen blanket of snow!

I had a loud cracking sound about 10:30 last night. Look what it was! Our neighbors tree split right in half!

Claire found a better snack and started eating the cookie crumbs that fell off of the snowman.

When Parker sings Frosty the Snowman, he always sings "corndog pipe" instead of corncob pipe. It seemed very appropriate for our snowman to have a corndog pipe!

Check out our neighbor's snowman. This picture doesn't even show his grandiosity! He's truly about 8 feet tall. He's huge!

After our fun in the snow, we had to have hot chocolate of course!

I'm planning to stay warm and cozy in the house for the rest of the day!

Good News and Bad News!

Here's the good news...
Claire had a pajama party at school today. Here she is this morning before school. I bought her the cutest pajamas, but she insisted on wearing these ballerina pajamas that she already had. They're cute too and actually warmer so I decided not to pick that battle! I actually wrapped a few presents! Granted, they were teacher gifts, and I had no choice but to get them wrapped. Nevertheless, it's progress. I'm using a polka dot theme for wrapping this year.

We are getting TONS of snow right now! This is the most snow we've had since either of my children were born. It is so exciting for them, and they are thrilled beyond measure to play in it tomorrow. It sure is beautiful!

Here's the bad news...

Brian is totally stuck in this huge snowstorm twenty miles from home. He was on the side of the road for about five hours, but he just now made it to a nearby hotel. I'm relieved that he's safe and warm, but I'm lonely here without him. I'm also praying we don't lose electricity. A lot of people are already without power.

It's Finally Here!

I'm ever so thankful that Friday is here. The week has been pretty good with the slight exception of Monday morning smacking me in the face. It definitely wasn't easy getting back into our routine after FIVE WHOLE DAYS OFF.

Tonight I'm thankful that:
1. I don't have to set my alarm clock.
2. I get to take NyQuil (I need to tell you about my little addiction).
(I could do without all the sinus issues, but this is a thankful list...)
3. We decided to fore go the parade and the cold, crowded streets.
4. SNOW is in the forecast!
5. I found the cutest dress for Claire tonight ~ ON SALE!
6. Parker finally has a decent winter coat in his possession.
7. Friday night pizza night ~ I really never get tired of that tradition!
8. Seeing Santa tonight ~ again.
9. My Christmas cards (still a work in progress, but looking cute)
10. Being with my sweet little family in our warm, cozy home!
