I come bearing some no good, very bad news. We only had one Krispy Kreme doughnuts left in our area as of a few weeks ago. I think you know where this is going...
A heart-attack was narrowly avoided when our school secretary informed me that she thought that ALL the KKs had closed. I'm pretty sure she's wrong. Even though we rarely eat them at home, KK doughnuts are definitely an important tradition on our vacations. So much so that Parker called doughnuts "yoceans" the first two years of his life. We finally figured out that he associated doughnuts with the ocean (vacation).
I'm keeping hope alive that Krispy Kreme is alive and well in Myrtle Beach!

Dunkin' Donuts is coming to replace them. You won't need Krisy Kreme. Dunkin' Donuts is 20 times better!
Unfortunately, it's not Dunkin Donuts - it's some place I've never heard of, and NOT GOOD :( I went there yesterday, got a donut and it was bad. How can a glazed donut be bad???
Julia,
Was it covered in chocolate? Things (or doughnuts in this case) always taste better with chocolate!!
Seaver's Bakery...My grandpa owned it from the 60's until he sold in 1997. His recipe was excellent and I loved grabbing fresh honeybuns, fried pies, and donuts from the conveyor belt. I'm sorry to hear that the "new Seaver's" isn't good. They bought his name and the pie recipes but apparently not the same recipe as the donuts were because I've heard they aren't great. I dunno, I don't eat sweets very often anyway.
