Dear Claire,

My sweet princess...where do I begin? I really can't believe you are already FIVE! The time has gone by so quickly! You are really becoming such a big girl.

As I've watched you grow, I've noticed a few things that I want to always remember about you at this age. You love to make things, especially with paper. I could give you some paper, markers, and TAPE (lots and lots of tape) and you would be happy for hours. I can tell that drawing is fun for you, and you are really beginning to love words, numbers, and letters. I am thrilled that you enjoy reading so much, and how you always say yes when I want to read with you. Animals are one of your favorite things as well. Of course, you love our sweet little Max, but you also love all animals. Sometimes I can't believe how unafraid you are of animals, big and small. Speaking of that, I've noticed you don't mind to pick up a bug and really enjoy playing in the mud or dirt. How can you be the same little girl who loves to play dress up and change your clothes many times a day?

Fruit! Fruit! Fruit! Fruit is definitely your favorite food! Your favorite color is still pink and you love to play outside. Dance class is a fun activity for you, and you really are good at it! I've noticed how you want to be helpful ~ washing windows, dusting, helping me cook, folding laundry, the list goes on and on...

I love how you like to talk about Jesus! When Parker asked Jesus into his heart, you also wanted to pray the same prayer. We let you of course, but we didn't know if you really understood. As time has gone by, you have shown your understanding and still believe with all your heart that you are saved! Praise the Lord! I love to hear you pray because you really talk to Jesus from your heart and often say things that seem wise beyond your years. I really think prayer may be one of your spiritual gifts!

So as we start this new year together, there are so many prayers I have for you. I am excited to see you grow physically and spiritually. It's exciting to see your personality, interests, and strengths continue to blossom. I know that God has such a wonderful plan for your life, and I can't wait to see you live it...now and for many years to come. I'm truly honored to be your mommy. You will always by my sunshine!

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.
