Brian took Parker and Claire to Sea Captain's House for lunch yesterday. Brian loves the she crab soup, and the kids just wanted to go along. I, on the other hand, enjoyed some alone beach time. Also, I didn't want to eat out twice in one day because I've already eaten like an extra large pig this week.
After lunch, they joined me at the ocean. Parker spent a lot of time trying to catch fish. He caught one the other day and has been enjoying the thrill of the hunt ever since. They are quick little guys though.
Claire looked for little mussels. They are literally everywhere, so it wasn't much of a challenge!
Last night, we went to a new restaurant. It was called Flynn's Irish Tavern. Sounds like an obvious choice for 4th of July, right? We celebrated America by going to an Irish restaurant. That's how we roll.
Brian had fish and chips, and he loved it. I had a hamburger. So I represented America for the both of us. It was honestly delicious. One of the best hamburgers I've ever had. I think we will be adding Flynn's to our Myrtle Beach restaurant rotation.
After dinner, we went to Barefoot Landing. We walked around a lot and looked in shops. Some of us rode a cow.
Parker and this Shetland pony had a standoff.
Her name was Dolly, and she was a sweet girl. We also met a llama. She looked at me suspiciously, so I didn't take her picture.
We went to see the tigers. There were some cute baby tigers too!
We just happened upon a street show that was beginning. The performer ended up picking Parker and Claire to be part of the show. Parker had to help him get on his unicycle. Claire had to throw him some clubs to juggle while he was riding. They both did great!
We ran into a very tall Uncle Sam.
Later, we ran into his sister.
We went back to our hotel and walked down the boardwalk to get ice cream and watch fireworks over the ocean.
The picture doesn't show it well, but the Sky Wheel was lit up in red, white, and blue.
Happy 4th of July!
(And many Irish blessings as well)
